My First Post (To Go With My First Sweater)
Hm.. I wonder how many blogs start out with "My First Post".. How boring is that?
..Probably about as boring as I am. Ha!.
But as my title alludes, I am currently working on my first sweater. I've completed the back but my most current picture doesn't show that:

It may not look like much right now.. but one day I'm hoping it'll look something like this:

Yes, I'm making the infamous Ribby Cardi.. like so many other knitters I also have my own "edits" I'm doing to the pattern. I don't know yet how much I'll deviate, but it all has do do with yarn and how much I have of each color. I love my yarn color choices. I'm using Rowan's All Seasons Cotton in True Blue and Dusk. I wish I was able to find the Dusk on Ebay like I did the True Blue.. SUCH SAVINGS. I wouldn't have been able to make this sweater if it weren't for such a nice seller on ebay. Gotta love it.
The only other knitterly news I have is that I started on the sleeves last night. I'm not making them tapered like the pattern says. I started out knitting with the full number of stitches I was supposed to have after the Increases. (64, I'm making the smallest size, because I am a small Kim.) I did have to alter the 2x2 ribbing in the very center because the stitches at the ends of the rows weren't the same. Fooey on tricky ribbing.
I've been enjoying the use of my newest knitting toy for sure though. Did yall know that you can get a fancy row counter at such places like Office Depot? No? Well neither did I.. till I got one.

I like it much better than the typical Knitter's row counters that they sell among the cable needles, having more digets to work with is definatly a blessing. (Two didget row counters just don't cut it.) I love being able to push the button and have the numbers automatically advance. It's just so HANDY. It is a bit heavy to let hang on my needles, so I'm contemplating getting a metal ball ID style chain so I can hang it around my neck.. but I haven't decided yet.
So that's all my knitterly thoughts of the moment. I really gotta get going on some work for school before we go out for dinner. (We're celebrating Brad's new job! Woo!)
