Delayed For My Honeymoon..

Howdie..

*Sigh* So I'm stalled out.. I've hit a road-block on the road of knitting happiness and success. So you want it without a metaphor? To put it simply.. I don't know what to do next.

What I do have so far looks pretty darn nice (If I do say so myself, and obviously.. I do.)

But I'm seriously stuck on a part the designer of the pattern says she messed up on.. The beginning of the V shaping.

I currently have 170 stitches.. And that is the number I am supposed to have... But then when you get to reading where it says to place markers for the Vs thoes stitches end up equalling 171. One extra stitch that I don't have..

So.. The nice little helpful Honeymoon FAQ says:
7. I'm making size 34, 38, or 42 and when I get to the arm and V-shaping I have 2 extra stitches - what gives?
That would be my math. Just divide your sts so that the extras are on the back - one on each side- and then do an extra decrease on each side of the V. It's a pretty easy fix.

I have no idea.. at all.. what this means.. How are there 2 extra stitches when I actually don't have enough stitches to begin with? Maybe I'm just reading it wrong or something.. I'm not sure.. But I can't do ANYTHING else till I figure this out! (Or someone super nice.. helps me out ; ) )

Otherwise.. I think it's going pretty darn well.. I tried it on last night with the "holding stitches on ugly yarn" trick.. I think it fits pretty well so far.. Hopefully it doesn't end up too long for me.

So that is all... More later.. when the problem is solved.

Here is what I would do...

K43, place marker (in new color) to mark center front V (you should have three place markers now), K43, move your original second place marker (that was at 85 sitches) to mark the center of right armpit (at 86 stitches knitted now), K42, place marker to mark center back V in new color, and K42.

now you should be set!

**each front half will have one more stitch than each of the back halves (this is no big deal, and i think it may actually end up fitting better)

hope this helps! whoa, glad I've done 2 of these :-)
