I Love it when it's Free!

I got a new knitting bag today.. and I paid a hefty price of $0.00 (Ok, so I had to pay shipping.. but that was only $3.99) for it.. Fabuloso!

It's gonna be great for me to cart my knitting to and from work.. and it holds a lot more than I expected.. In that picture it has my 10 pack of Rowan ASC in there and it's not even bulging a bit!

This nifty bag came to me free from Dove... (Oh how I love them.) and it came with some samples in it too.. pretty nifty. And the deodorant sample is hilarious and strangely useful.

The first one is the regular size that you buy at the store.. the second was a free sample I got on it's own for that "7 day test" campaign they're running which I got for traveling.. and the third one is the free sample I got in my bag today... That lil thing is only about an inch wide.. but I figure it'll be great to hide in my purse for in case I forget to put some on before I leave for somewhere..

Anyway.. I've been wanting a bigger portable knitting bag for a while now.. but haven't had the money to spend on it.. but now I have one.. woo! And it really is cute too.. I love the way it looks.. I love free.. I love blue.. and I love that it holds lotsa knittin!

The only thing I don't really like about it is that it doesn't close all the way.. but that's allright I think... I just have to be careful when it rains.. lol.

As for knitting news.. I had 12 rows of my ribby body done last night.. but all that is gone now because I really didn't like how one of the edges was turning out.. I tried slipping the first stitch of every row to make picking up the zipper band easier.. but it ended up making the stitch next to that look VERY messy.. and I couldn't even fix it with a crochet hook.. So I frogged...

The knitting feels REALLY slow because I'm doing all 3 body pieces in one.. that's 175 stitches to each row.. and for some reason my left ring and pinkie fingers have been getting sore.. so I have to take lots of breaks.. so it's slow going.. I'd show a picture but 6 rows really looks like NOTHING so you'll have to wait.. lol.

I have to admit I fear the blocking stage... I don't know for sure if I can block a piece that big.. but we'll just have to see... I might have to make a creative solution.. lol.

Now if only I had a creative solution to get the housework done... That would be a triumph! It's just too hot right now though.. my thermometer on my desk says it's 85ºF in here... UGH. Good ole Texas : /

Hi Kim,
Nice bag...the price is great! I think that deoderant sample is for days when you are a "little" sticky LOL!

I got scarf style in the mail today and I agree with you...what is with the fuzzy pictures. That really is dumb. I am trying to figure out what yarn I want to use for Lady Eleanor. I had orginally wanted to do a solid color but Noro is looking pretty good too. Decisions, decisions...
I'm doing the ribby right now, too, and did my body all in one piece, too. It sure does feel like you'll never finish the body -- especially when you read all the comments on the knitalong blog about how fast of a knit it is. I kept chanting to myself "no seams no seams no seams" and that seemed to help a bit.
Oh, a BLUE bag, isn't that great! But even better is a free bag :)
