Knitting Complete..

The knitting on my Voli is complete... but that doesn't mean the work is over..

I even stole Liz's idea for the hem.. (Yes I added sewing a seam to a seamless garment.. shh!!) I'm really glad I did, the weight of the hem makes the shirt lay much better.. and gives me the illusion of hips! (Of which I have none.)

But I still need to work out my color bleeding/changing issues.. I'm going to knit a few swatches and see what happens with different things.. I've heard of vinegar setting dye.. so I might try that.. and I bought some Ivory dish soap to try instead of Woolite. Why Ivory dish soap? Because Clara washes her KR swatches in it! That's why! So I'm going to try a few things before I subject my shirt to the wash.. I'm also going to try throwing a swatch in the laundry... (This sounds like lots of swatches.. Ugh.) I should also swatch some of the darker blue too.. I have no idea what that yarn comes out like washed.

I'm also debating whether or not to add a single crochet edging to prevent the rolling... I don't like the rolling.. and I don't want to block this thing every time I wear it.. but I don't like crocheting either! lol!

I need to buy a new crochet hook.. I don't have one small enough to make a tight enough edge. Brad'll love that... : /

Oh.. and I have to weave in the ends..

...I'm not really done...

And I still have Ribby2 to work on! HA! And soon I'm going to have to start on Melanie's scarf if I want it done by Christmas time..

...Suddenly I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Better go knit some swatches... Anyone want to help?

sure! I'll help! poke the yarn thru the screen and I'll take it, then I'll share my green tea with you. =) I'm done with the sweater now - like you - not counting the ends. As for the rolling, maybe a decorative edge? It might overpower the top, tho.
Thanx for adding linking us! Yaay! We need all the plugs we can get! hahaha
The Voli looks wonderful. I really like the color choices and the detail of the stripes.
Oh, that's so cute! On my screen, you can't even seen the stripes, but trying different soaps sounds like a good idea if you don't like the way it looks now. Swatches are boring, but good. Do you know if the darker blue bleeds a lot? Maybe it'll end up colouring the lighter blue parts. Therefore, swatches are good (but boring!)

Very nice, though, will we see it on when it's (totally)finished?
A yarn winder is a good idea. I also need to put each ball in a bag so they can't touch their siblings - something like that. I just noticed that I forgot to tell you that the top is really cute! *oops* And having hips is a bit over rated, once you have them they usually try to take over the world!
Very nice, Kim
I can't see the stripes either but if you know they are there it probably bugs you.

I posted a link to the swift directions on KR under the thread "hubby finished my swift"
I totally intend on posting a modeled picture of the voli when it's totally complete. (I still intend on posting a picture of me in my first Ribby... so.. we'll see how all that goes. lol.)

You wouldn't see any striping in the light blue on this picture.. because I haven't washed it yet. The swatches in a previous entry show the color descrepency that I was talking about.. (did yall see it then?)
You have been meme'd by me! I wanted to give Kim a chance at you first, so that's why I waited, cause she knew you before we did =), but she did a random thing, and now you are my first meme! have fun, you'll see the rules on my post! hugs!
