Naw.. I think it's a Zeebra..
So I did actually knit last night.. a swatch for the now infamous 'Voli T, and I actually washed my swatch.. which I've never done before. (Yes. I know, Bad Kim.)
I can't say I'm pleased with the outcome. My gauge is perfect.. so I should be happy.. right?
..Wrong.
This is a picture of the swatch while it was wet and laying on the towel:

Do you see it? The stripes... Ugh. So I thought.. hey.. maybe when it dries it won't be a big deal..
..Wrong.

Granted, these two pictures were done in two different ways.. the second one is scanned in my scanner because I thought it would pick up the color changes better. But you can STILL see the stripes even though it's bone dry.
I'm not sure if it's a Knit Pick's Shine problem, a dye lot problem, or a problem with how I washed my swatch (In the sink, with Woolite.) but it is a problem none the less.. and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
I keep reading about this yarn being safe in the washing machine.. but if it did that in the sink.. how could it possibly make it through the washer?
It's not a HORRIBLE effect really.. it just isn't how I expected the yarn to look... Kinda sad.
I looked on the knitpicks website for an email address to send them this issue, but I could only find the webmaster's email for technical problems.. which this isn't exactly.. so I guess I'll have to call them tomarrow to talk to them about it >: |
I hate calling companies.
How do you run a web-business without a business email?
Maybe this shirt'll wash better in the washer.. maybe it'll all be ok...
All I can do is try.
Which I shall.
...Tonight.
