Long Awaited Ribby2 Update..

I finally got a break from my school work to knit a little bit on my Ribby2 and actually post a progress report on it..

It looks a bit strange and I know the picture is terrible.. I find it difficult to pose that oddly shaped thing... and even harder to fit the entire thing in the picture. lol.

I have the "fronts" on stitch holders and I'm working on the arm hole decreases on the back. I thought this method was a good idea. We'll see if that continues to be the case.

I really think I'll enjoy the mostly seamless construction when it's all said and done.. but it does create some problems (like those I've already mentioned.) especially when I travel with it.

The pieces were much more portable..

But I do so hate those seams.

So I'm moving right along on it.... Maybe I'll be done by the time we get a good solid cold front.

I also completed the edging on my Voli.. I think I like it a lot better than it was... it really did cut down on most of the rolling.. but it didn't interrupt any of the straight lines.

My mom doesn't like the neckline on me.. she thinks it's too high.. and really.. to be honest.. I agree with her.. but I'm hoping it'll get deeper with washing and wearing it.. I've heard things about shine draping more and weighing itself down. We shall see.

I still haven't made the swatch for the vinegar test.. but as I said I've been workin my lil bum off on school lately... Everything got delayed because of the hurricane.. and then I played a mean game of procrastination.

...I seem to enjoy that game.. until it really matters.

In other knitting news.... Brad is knitting... I know.. weird isn't it. He actually isn't doing badly.. but for some reason we keep getting into an argument when he mentions that knitting doesn't take any skill and he thinks he should automatically get perfect, smooth, flawless stockinette stitch in a few days. I keep telling him it takes time... but he doesn't want to believe that. He wants to believe that it's simple and that any schmo could do it.

I think he's slowly learning otherwise.

I do enjoy that he's knitting though... He's putting the wool yarn I ended up with to good use. I can't knit with that stuff.. it murders my hands. I itch just thinking about it.

I hope to post another Ribby2 update before another month goes by. I am shocked that I waited an entire month to update about it.. but I guess it's because of the Voli. lol.

Good progress on Ribby2 - I always look for ways to do seamless, as well - if I wanted to sew, I'd sew, right? I totally get it! Awesome that Brad is knitting! I taught my brother, but I'm not sure I'll get my hubby to try, maybe some day.

Well, I did the sock right and it looks SO much better!! Have you ever tried the Twisted German cast on method? It's really interesting - it kept the stockinette stitch fom rolling. I'll have to experiment with other patterns to see if it works all the time. C U around ;)
Thanks for the compliment on the sock, I'm about to turn the heel on #2. I should be done by evening!
