A Personal Update..

Well.. Not much public knitting has gone on in the past few days.. I'm still working on the MMGP and it's coming along well.. I do realize that Christmas is 23 days away but I really don't think I'll see Melanie ON Christmas.. probably a week after or so.. that's usually how it goes anyway.. so I'm not all that worried.

I've been working and doing school and doing family things lately.. My mom has been off work for two weeks.. which is highly unusual so we end up going out and doing things.. Course school/work is the main reason that I'm not done with the MMGP yet..

I (stupidly?) added another gift project to my list today.. You see.. My brother and his wife are having a baby.. it's due in February.. I've been very leary of knitting for this baby because of the drama surrounding them and their relationship.. I wasn't sure if a knitted gift from me would be well recieved or not.. but today I asked her about it and she seemed to be ok with it.. Dad said he would buy the yarn.. so... I guess I need to start thinking about what I'll make. She said her mom is already making her a blanket.. so that's out... I want mine to be different and identifyable as something I made.. so... I still need to think about it all.

On a positive blogging note.. my camera thingie arrived and it WORKS.. so when I'm working on something I can show publically it will be no problem getting the pictures from the camera into my new laptop... I tell you.. blogging will be MUCH easier. Hooooly moly. Oh.. and I highly recommend this camera thingie.. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to unplug the USB cord from my camera.. which results in a totally drained battery.. this is pretty annoying. But with the camera thingie.. no battery is used.. so it's tons easier.

I can't wait till I'm all done with these gifts so I can start knitting for me again.. I'm still dreaming about the Travelling Cables Cardigan... and trying to imagine where I will be able to buy the yarn from without too much money being spent.. My dad is generous... but for what I've seen so far.. he ain't THAT generous. lol. I still want to make it though.. HOooooly moly I do. And I still have my Ribby2 to finish.. I knit a few rounds of sleeve each day I go to work. (I can't justify working on it at home.. as I should be working on the MMGP.)

I think things will calm down a great deal once school is finished.. It's gonna be pretty difficult for the next two weeks.. but after that I get to be off for about a month I believe.. It will be a serious knitting month to be sure!

So.. I guess I've rambled on enough.. I gotta get something to eat and then get to the knittin!

I once made a top down cardigan for a baby in Sirdar Snuggly. I felt like a stuffed animal, it was so soft. I am pretty sure I found the pattern on line somewhere for free. And the Sirdar Snuggly will hide any mistakes :-) (it was one of my first projects)
knit picks has some nicely priced stuff, I got several skeins of the silk alpacha blend - enough for a sweater for about $30 I think. They always have something on sale.

I can't believe you've never seen snow! You wouldn't have to go VERY far north to see some! WOW - we get a little hint of some here nearly every winter - but not the diamond snow - you know what's ironic, is only other time I've ever seen the 'diamond snow', I was with my Grandpa that died - sniff, sniff
:]
