It Still Feels Slooooowww..
Well I finnally got enough Ribby2 to show a picture.. but it still isn't much..

I'm sure it just *feels* slow because of knitting the 3 pieces in one.. but by golly does it feel slow!
I still like the yarn though.. so that's good. lol. And if you look in the picture you'll see my 6 colorful stitch markers... The yellow ones tell me where the seams would be if there would be seams.. and the others tell me when the stitch pattern changes from one type of ribbing to another.. (Or SS since I got to that part on the fronts. I'm doing the plain pannel fronts and ribbed back again.)
I'm getting somewhat concerned about that little pain I was talking about in my fingers.. Sometimes I try to change my grip and then the pain goes to my thumb.. But it's always the left hand.. so I'm not sure what I'm doing differently.. I don't remember having these pains before. Hm.
Oh well. You can't keep the knit down.
I Love it when it's Free!
I got a new knitting bag today.. and I paid a hefty price of $0.00 (Ok, so I had to pay shipping.. but that was only $3.99) for it.. Fabuloso!

It's gonna be great for me to cart my knitting to and from work.. and it holds a lot more than I expected.. In that picture it has my 10 pack of Rowan ASC in there and it's not even bulging a bit!
This nifty bag came to me free from
Dove... (Oh how I love them.) and it came with some samples in it too.. pretty nifty. And the deodorant sample is hilarious and strangely useful.

The first one is the regular size that you buy at the store.. the second was a free sample I got on it's own for that "7 day test" campaign they're running which I got for traveling.. and the third one is the free sample I got in my bag today... That lil thing is only about an inch wide.. but I figure it'll be great to hide in my purse for in case I forget to put some on before I leave for somewhere..
Anyway.. I've been wanting a bigger portable knitting bag for a while now.. but haven't had the money to spend on it.. but now I have one.. woo! And it really is cute too.. I love the way it looks.. I love free.. I love blue.. and I love that it holds lotsa knittin!
The only thing I don't really like about it is that it doesn't close all the way.. but that's allright I think... I just have to be careful when it rains.. lol.
As for knitting news.. I had 12 rows of my ribby body done last night.. but all that is gone now because I really didn't like how one of the edges was turning out.. I tried slipping the first stitch of every row to make picking up the zipper band easier.. but it ended up making the stitch next to that look VERY messy.. and I couldn't even fix it with a crochet hook.. So I frogged...
The knitting feels REALLY slow because I'm doing all 3 body pieces in one.. that's 175 stitches to each row.. and for some reason my left ring and pinkie fingers have been getting sore.. so I have to take lots of breaks.. so it's slow going.. I'd show a picture but 6 rows really looks like NOTHING so you'll have to wait.. lol.
I have to admit I fear the blocking stage... I don't know for sure if I can block a piece that big.. but we'll just have to see... I might have to make a creative solution.. lol.
Now if only I had a creative solution to get the housework done... That would be a triumph! It's just too hot right now though.. my thermometer on my desk says it's 85ºF in here... UGH. Good ole Texas : /
Ribby Planning and a Box Update
I received my yarn yesterday and I already have my swatch made.. (right on gauge! Woo!!)
I'm working on the planning stages of my new Ribby... I've decided that I'm going to try and make the body in all one piece.. Hopefully I have enough stitch markers and calculator batteries to make it happen.. I don't want to get myself confused.. but if it all comes down to it I can always frog it and make it in pieces like I already know how..

I loooooove the color.. it's so pretty.. Better than I thought it would be for sure.. Hopefully I'm not sick of it before I finish knitting..
And now for the box update...
It's been fully painted for a while now... but it still doesn't have any yarn in it... Wondering why?

Well for some reason the paint is still tacky.. It's been over a month and if I close that lid.. it'll stick.. and make a loud cracking sound when you force it open.. I'd like to go back to Home Depot and see what they say about it.. but my dad said I should put little tiny felt pieces in the corners and be done with it... But it really bugs me that it's tacky like it is.. Ugh. I worked so hard on it..
On the up-side, I really like the look that the paint has... I didn't paint enough coats to make it solid.. but after 3 coats it got the look it has now... It's dark but you can still see the grain and it has some lighter spots and darker spots.. it's a neat effect that I've become really fond of.
Hopefully I'll make it to Home Depot soon enough... Maybe theres a clear coat I can put on it to avoid the tackyness.... Who knows.
Some Nice Scenery..
Well I've been testing out a pattern for Melanie's scarf... I so wish I could post pictures but I don't want to give her any hints.. (And.. I don't know if she'd click a link if I said for her not to.. Could she stand the temptation? Could she resist? I don't know. I wouldn't.)
But I have another picture to share... This was right outside my house today..

It's like something out of one of thoes old 50s tv shows.. but in color.
Oh.. if anyone has any suggestions for non-wool, 20 sts = 4 inch, light aqua, super soft yarn I'd greatly apreciate it : )
Wait a Month? HA!
Ha I say again! Why did I think I could control myself THAT much? Why did I say I'd wait a month when the very next day I saw dad and asked him about it..
What am I going on about? This:

Willpower? No.... I have none.
....And my dad is an enabler.
...And I love him for it : )
The Results: Yarn Windin Night
Howdie : )
Yes.. I had quite a satisfying time durring yarn windin night... It was more fun than I thought it would be... and I even frogged my honeymoon cami... (shh.)

Isn't it cute? I wish I could leave it up all the time.. but I figured that would be inconciderate of Brad's tv lounging time.. lol. But I do like how easy it is to set up and take down.. so it really isn't a problem..

I'm almost embarassed at the amount of blue yarn here... but I have MORE! Lol. Oh.. and last night reaffermed my hate for Lionbrand Chenille (both the thick and the thin.) Thoes would be the two balls that aren't blue.. I think the cream thick chenille looks like a donut.
Frogging my cami was suprisingly easy and fast.. I think the whole thing was done in under 30 minutes... And that was only because of the "break yarn and start a new ball" weirdness of it.. the actual frogging of the fabric was SUPER fast... and I was so happy to not have a big wad of messy ramen-noodle yarn at the end. Having the winder makes frogging much less painful.. I'm glad I waited to do it with my winder.
My knitting bag is MUCH cleaner now... I love these tidy lil balls... My dad was making fun of me for spending "so much money" on something that just winds yarn.. (It was only 36 dollars.) I've decided that it is equevilent to all of his bullet making machines that cost 100s of dollars... but I'll tell him that later today. lol.
If you can get a great price... it's totally worth it.. or.. if you have 50 dollars to spend willy nilly.. it's also worth it.. I was the great bargian hunter with this one... the only cheaper prices I found were on Ebay.. and I just don't trust it.. (Plus.. I believe the prices would have gone up. The auctions had like 3 days left.)
All in all.. I'm a quite pleased yarn ball makin Kim.
