Finally... Knitting for Me..
Like a breath of fresh air... seriously.. when was the last time I knitted something for ME? I can't even remember... that's scary.
I know you're probably expecting to see a progress picture of my TCC... but no.. I have decided that this week is a very bad week to start a project so complicated.. Not only have I been working (both at work, and on school) so hard for the past 4 days.. but.. erm.. it's that time of the month for me.. and I don't think I talk about it here.. but when that happens to me.. it really nocks me out more than most women. I don't know why but it's just really awful. and today was horrendus even though I was at work anyway.
So.. in order to make myself feel better.. I have decided that it's time for me to have my very own Bobbi Bear..

Recognise the yarn? Hehe. I think he's going to be cute.. The gauge is a little smaller than the pattern calls for.. but I think it'll be fine anyway.. I'm converting all the "knit until piece reaches # of inches" into the actual row counts so that I don't have a long and skinny bear.
I think he's going to be majorly cute.. I'm excited to get him finished so I can hug him!
...Yes... I am a dork... But I'm knitting for ME!! WOO!!
Oh.. and I'll leave you with an interesting story..
Today at work one of the students, who is a jock type highschool student saw me knitting and said "I wanna learn to do that! That way I can make me some wool hats!" Which I think is totally funny.. I told him if he brings yarn and needles I'll teach him.. and he actually said he'd do that.. so we'll see! I might convert one yet!
..Anyway... I gotta work on my bear's... BUTT! (*dies laughing*) Hopefully he won't have butt holes this time. (Har har.)
...Man I'm tired.. I'm sorry.
I've Gone and Done It...
When the Yarn Harlot came out with her Knitting Olympics.. I really did want to join.. but I just couldn't justify it.. I know I have the Travelling Cables Cardigan coming up.. but I know good n well it would take longer than the two week Olympic time-frame. I am not a crazy person. (Much.)
So while feeling a little bummed that I couldn't join the Olympic festivities.. I just kept to myself about it.. Then I ran across the UFOlympics.

Now that, is one I can join!
I have been putting off finishing my Ribby2 for far too long now.. and this is just enough motivation (I hope anyway.) to actually get it done.. then I'll have a clean slate ready to focus on my TCC! Woo!
And I may even throw Aunt Karen's scarf into the mix.. that is if I don't finish it sooner. I think I will.. because I found out she doesn't want it nearly as long as I was going to make it. (Yes, I'm quite happy about this!) But she does want fringe.. which I warned her is not a good idea with LB Homespun.. I showed her the tail end of the cast on and how fuzzy it has become.. and she said "No, I like that.. do the fringe" so fringe she shall have.
I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of another package from Elann.. This time the yarn is for Aunt Nelda's Bobbi Bear.. and I got an assortment of DPNs to make sure I can get just the right gauge. When the package arrives (if it isn't waiting for me in the mailbox right now..) I will have DPNs in sizes: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Which is pretty good I think.. allthough not much good for socks as they don't go all that small. But every little bit helps.. right? I'll just have to erm.. find.. a place for them.. which I'm not sure about.. I guess I'll figure that out when I actually get them.
So.. hm.. I guess.. I should go do something constructive.. I have dishes to do.. and mucho studying to accomplish by tomarrow.. Ugh.. Procrastination much?
**Edited to Add**Yep.. I was right.. my Elann order was waiting in the mailbox. (Oh.. and I got the dishes done.)

This is Austermann Mayfair in Grey Mist, and Midnight Blue. The blue is for the eyes and nose. I have enough Grey Mist to double the yarn and knit the Bobbi, or knit it tighter and smaller than the pattern says.. I'll have to swatch to see what I like best. Woo fun!
Now onto that studying... Ugh.
